Puppies may leave for their new home at approximately 9 weeks old.  At that time puppies will have a full veterinary examination, they have been dewormed, stool samples have been tested for parasites twice, pups have received their first puppy vaccination, they are AKC registered, and have the Home Again Microchip.  During their veterinary visits puppies are checked from head to tail: heart, lungs, ears, eyes, teeth, abdomen, pelvis, testicles, joints/range of motion, coat, skin, urine and stool samples etc.  Our puppies come to you in the peak of health.  To us, the responsibility does not stop there.  We will always be available to help and advise in any aspect of the puppy’s life.  When you get a Highlander German Shepherd puppy you are also getting life long support.  Your new best friend will come with his/her own portfolio including pedigree, AKC registration, 2 copies of his/her medical record:  one for your records and the other for your veterinarian, puppy contract, a ton of puppy info, a snuggle puppy that has the scent of your puppy’s parents, siblings, us on it, as well a heartbeat in the belly of the snuggle puppy to make the transition from our home to yours more comfortable.  We also provide advice and guidelines related to puppy care.  Before you leave we will scan the microchip to show you how it works.    Puppies will be eating Acana Heritage Meats Grain Free all life stages food www.whitedogbone.com .  They will also be on NuVet and NuJoint supplements www.nuvet.com/863464 .  We will provide you with a feeding and vaccine schedule.    REFERENCES from veterinarians, trainers, and clients available upon request.    Please note that a non-refundable is required to hold a specific puppy for you.    We are available for our clients to answer questions, offer guidance,  and again life long support.  You will be given our home phone numbers as well as all of our cell numbers.  If  you cannot keep said dog for ANY reason during his/her life – he/she must come back to us.   Please note this is a short summary – detailed info will be provided to you before and when you pick up your puppy. 

A little background information on the parents of our puppies:  All of our breeding dogs have had a radiographic examination of their hips and elbows – are CHD clear, they are DNA registered,  genetic testing for DM is negative, serum hepatic/thyroid/renal/pancreatic function are all within normal limits, have had extensive temperament testing, and are working service and therapy dogs.   Please note that this is just a small amount of information here.  We will go over all of the health screening and what goes into our breeding program with you in depth.  Our dogs are our family.  Our breeding program is a labor of love and is our passion.   We continuously focus on the betterment of this magnificent breed.  Our research and continuing education on genetics, health, nutrition, vaccinations, holistic care, and more is ongoing.   Our puppies and dogs are cared for and recommended by our spectacular veterinarians at Center For Veterinary Care in Millbrook, NY.                                                       

Our New York State sales tax Certificate is readily available for you to see. 

* We review your application and then talk via telephone to tell you about our dogs/breeding program, answer your questions, and have questions for you.  After that we meet in person.  This gives you the opportunity to meet us, our dogs, and for us to meet you and your family.   Meeting our puppies’ future family is very important to us. 

All of our puppies go home with a special folder that contains a tremendous amount of info including this very informative booklet on growth/development/age appropriate exercise.
